In July 2008, Kolo travels once again to Serbia as special guests of the professional National Ensemble Kolo’s 60th Anniversary festivities! As the only North American ensemble to receive this invitation, we’ll wow audiences at the historic Kalemegdan Fortress and other venues across our homeland! The National Ensemble’s Director Radojica Kuzmanovic will also teach us an exciting new choreography.

In August, Kolo performs all weekend long in St. Louis’ popular Serbfest. In September, we end off a great summer in Boston.

On October 4, 2007, Kolo members were thrilled to receive the 2007 "Zlatna Znacka" award from the Cultural Education Society of Serbia. Presented by the Serbia Ministry of the Diaspora at the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Toronto, this international gold award is awarded to those who perpetuate and nurture Serbian culture and arts. Recipients included renowned artists, cultural activists, professors and writers from Serbia and the Diaspora. Thank you!

KOLO: Dobitnik Priznanja "Zlatna Značka " Kulturno-Prosvetne Zajednice Srbije za 2007 godinu!

"Zlatna Zna čka" je državna nagrada koja se dodeljuje svake godine pojedincima za njihov poseban i neprestan doprinos u razvoju i negovanju srpske kulture i umetnosti. Medju dobitnicima su istaknuti umetnici, kulturni aktivisti, profesori i književnici iz Srbije i dijaspore. Medju nagradjenima su i dve organizacije iz Kanade: list "Novine" iz Toronta i SFE Kolo iz Hamiltona. Hvala!

Kolo had a great summer of 2007! In June, we danced with Novi Sad's renowned "Vila" at the Dofasco Centre for the Arts theatre. We also hosted "Mlada Srbadija" from Vancouver. In July, Kolo traveled to San Diego, California for an amazing trip. We proudly represented the Hamilton community, performed great folklore and had major fun in the sun! Members caught up with "Morava" dancers during their "20 th Anniversary Folklore Festival" and made tons of new friends from London England, Houston, Arizona . the list goes on! In August, Kolo was the main entertainment for St. Louis' popular Serbfest Weekend. Kolo was once again the ambassador for Serbian and Canadian culture! Serbian Folklore is alive and well, and loved across the globe. Kolo is proud to be a part of the tradition!
