2008 Year Review

Kolo travelled to Serbia once again! In July, we performed at Razanj's Sava Jeremic Festival, Vrsac International Festival, Topolas International Council of Folklore Festivals (CIOFF) Concert, and Belgrades Kalamegdan Fortress as guests of the Serbian National Folk Dance Ensemble Kolo's 60th Anniversary celebrations. We met groups from all over the world from Russia to the Ivory Coast. Kolo received media attention from Radio Televizija Srbije (RTS) and Bijeljina Television! We also learned a new choreography from the National Ensemble Kolo's world renowned Director Radojica Kuzmanovic!

Kolo also went to St. Louis Serbfest for some dancing, singing, and an endless supply of memories. The enthusiastic St. Louis crowd never ceased to ask questions about our traditions and heritage. It keeps us coming back every time! Kolo ended the summer with a great trip to Boston.

In September, Kolo began working with Ivan Radovanovic, first accordion with the Bora Dugic Orchestra and Markovic Ensemble.

November's 39th Annual Kolo Concert was bigger than ever! Over 500 audience members loved performances by Kolo, St Nicholas Church's Neven, and special guests KUD Batocina from Serbia.
